Why Sales?

From the moment I was introduced to the world of sales, I knew I had found my calling. What captivates me most isn’t just closing deals, it’s the human connection behind every interaction. Sales, to me, is an art of empathy: truly listening, understanding each person’s unique story and needs, and building genuine relationships grounded in trust and support.

It’s about creating lasting loyalty, not just a one-time transaction.

Last semester, I took the professional selling class at UCF, and it confirmed everything I felt about this career. I thrived in the role plays, not just because I enjoyed them, but because I naturally connect with people and intuitively tailor solutions to help them. Below is an example of a successful role play— a real demonstration of how I bring empathy and strategic thinking together to create win-win outcomes.

What is UCF's Professional Selling Program?

​

The Professional Selling Program at the University of Central Florida is a highly selective, hands-on program within the College of Business that prepares students for successful careers in sales. Designed to develop both technical selling skills and emotional intelligence, the program focuses on relationship-building, strategic communication, and value-based selling. Through advanced coursework, live role-plays, sales competitions, and mentorship from industry professionals, students gain real-world experience in consultative selling and business development. The program emphasizes ethical sales practices, customer-centric approaches, and long-term client relationship management. Graduates of the program leave with a strong foundation in B2B sales, a network of top-tier corporate partners, and the confidence to thrive in competitive, high-impact sales roles.
